BLU-BIRD Standard
The BLU-BIRD Ballistics Logging Unit - Basic Information Recording Device) is an on-board recording system built on the Ballistics Logging Unit electronics suite. The basic device pictured on the left with standard battery (non-rechargeable) contains a high-G, tri-axial accelerometer package for in-bore measurements and capacity for 12 additional channels of data. It is capable of withstanding up to 20,000 G's. Customized packaging can be provided upon request. Pictured on the right is an optional rechargeable battery package. BLU-BIRD can be recovered and used multiple times, provided that the device is adequately protected by the airframe upon which it rides. Some users have supported more than a dozen tests with a single BLU-BIRD.
BLU-BIRD is fast, compact and extremely versatile. Windows software is provided to allow data download and conversion into standard formats, and can also be used to select and adjust active channels, sampling rate, and record time. Recorded data can be erased which enables the device to be reusable. This module can record up to 8 channels of data with waveforms up to 100 volts. Users specify the voltage range of each channel and Syntronics will install the appropriate voltage dividers on the board for your application.
